Spread or jump moves
Move a piece 1 or 2 squares vertically, horizontally, or diagonally to create a new piece on the target field—1-square moves keep the original piece, while 2-square jumps remove it.
Automatic adjacent capture
After placing a piece, all opponent pieces adjacent to the target field automatically change to your color, letting you convert territory quickly with well-placed moves.
Adjustable AI difficulty
Play against the computer and control the opponent’s strength (easy, normal, hard) using a traffic-light selector.

What is the Ataxx app?
Ataxx is a two-player abstract strategy board game played on a 7x7 grid. In the app, the gamer controls white pieces and plays against the program controlling black pieces.
How do you play—what moves are allowed?
On your turn, you move one of your pieces 1 or 2 spaces vertically, horizontally, or diagonally to an empty target square. A new piece of your color appears on the target square.
What is the difference between moving 1 space and 2 spaces?
If you move 1 space, the original piece stays (you effectively clone). If you move 2 spaces, the original piece disappears and only the new piece remains (a jump move).
How do you capture or convert opponent pieces?
After you place a piece on the target square, all adjacent pieces around that target square change to your color. For example, black pieces adjacent to your newly placed white piece become white.
When does the game end, and how do you win?
The game ends when the board is full or when a player has no legal moves left. The winner is the player with the highest number of pieces on the board at the end.
Does the app have difficulty levels?
Yes. The opponent strength can be set to easy, normal, or hard, controlled using a traffic-light selector.
Why can’t I install Ataxx?
Installation may fail due to insufficient device storage, a poor network connection, or device compatibility. Also note that Android does not install XAPK files by default, so you may need an installer that supports XAPK.
